  Notes	Emil graduated from Milligan High School in 1935. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy on March 2, 1936. While in the service, he married Blanche Herynk in Long Beach, California. He was discharged in March, 1940 and worked in the shipyards until being recalled into the Navy during World War II. After the war, Emil resumed employment in the shipyards. He later worked as a purchasing agent of the Long Beach Hospital. His final employer was the Shell Oil Company in Wilmington, California. Emil retired from Shell in June, 1979. Blanche and Emil enjoy their sons and daughter-in-law and also their three granddaughters: Gary's daughter Cherise who is twelve and Richard and Kathy's daughters: Lindsey, seven and Kelly, four (all as of 1988).
