      Leon Chambers, 80, of Bronson died July 4 at Lufkin Memorial Hospital.

      Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, at Starr Funeral Home in Hemphill with burial at Gravelhill Cemetery.

      A native of Sabine County, he lived in Bronson most of his life and was retired from Tennessee Gas Company. He was also a World War II U. S. Army veteran.

      Survivors include his daughter Althea Odom of Bronson; brother N. B. "Buster" Chambers of Hemphill; sister Bennie Jean Henderson of League City, two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
