    • Frank lived and farmed all of his life on his family homestead in Saline County, except for the three years he served in the military during World War II. He was a glider mechanic in the Air Corps, stationed in Egypt, Sicily, North Africa, England and France. He received the Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Ribbon, European Theatre Ribbon with nine battle stars, and a distinguished Unit Badge. He was discharged at the rank of Sergeant. Frank served on the Milligan Farmers Co-op board for more than 18 years, and served as secretary-treasurer of this board. (Milligan, p 286).
