      Louis George Brust, Jr.

      Louis George Brust, Jr., left this cold world Sept. 28, for a better home. he was born March 28, 1924 in Gasport, Niagara County, NY, son of the late Lousi G. Brust and Melvina Nee Dettmer.

      He went to Catholic Shcool in Buffalo, NY, until around 1939 when his parents moved back to Gasport and opened their business. He graduated from Gasport High School; his plans were to attend Cornell University but Uncle Sam had other plans. He served four years in the army.

      On April 25, 1948 in Dallas, he and Vermell Anderson were married, they had over 60 years of happiness. In 1954, he joined the Lakeside Baptist Church. He was a Mason Scout, and was a coach for the Church Little League Baseball.

      He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, Nicholes and Barbara Ann Nee Oswald Brust and Edward and Anna nee Linderbause Dettmer; aunts and uncles, Mabel and George Steimer, Dorotha and Walter Baker, Leonard and Evelyn Dettmer, and Bill Dettmer; and cousins, Betty and Fred Lawrence, Robert and Erna Steimer, and George Steimer.

      He is survived by his wife, Vermell Brust; three sons, Louis III and Cheri Brust of Ennis, John and Laina Brust of Mineola, and William (Bill) Brust and Deanna of Scurry; daughter-in-law, Regina Mayfield of Richardson; grandchildren, Mendi and Eric Scott, Julie Kay, Emily Ann, and Louis Brust IV, all of Ennis, John and Sarah Brust of Mineola, Matthew Brust and Becky of Plano, and Jessica Brust of Hemphill; one great-granddaughter, Sophia Brust, the sunshine of his life; and cousins, Lawrence Steimer of Gasport, NY, Ruth O'Stewart of Key West, Fl, Marie and Ray Pietak of Sarasota, FL, Walter Baker and Lois of Lockport, NY, Nancy and Kenneth Kelkenberg of Newfane, NY and Marie and James Swann of Lockport, NY.

      Services will be held today (Wednesday) at Starr Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor M.L. Walters, Bro. Leo Wright and Bro. Cliff officiating. Interment will follow in Gravel Hill Cemetery.
