    • Eugene "Gene" Ferguson, age 90, longtime resident of the Rosevine Community, passed from this life in the hours of Wednesday, March 1, 2017, in San Augustine, Texas.

      Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 4, 2017, in the Rosevine United Pentecostal Church in Rosevine, Sabine County, Texas, with Bro. Glenn Morton, Bro. Gordon Simmons, and Bro. Steve Ferguson officiating. Burial will follow in the Rosevine Cemetery in Rosevine. Visitation will be Friday evening, March 3, 2017, from the hours of 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Wyman Roberts Funeral Home, 316 West Columbia Street, San Augustine, Texas 7592.

      Gene was born to Reta (Ashby) Ferguson and James Calvin Ferguson on January 24, 1927, in Wright City, Oklahoma. He served in the United States Army during WWII. He was a member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post #9313 in San Augustine, was retired from BTJ Pipeline Local Union 798, having traveled all across the United States working, and attended the Rosevine United Pentecostal Church.

      Those who are left to cherish her memory include, His beloved wife, Myra Ferguson of Rosevine; children, Steve Ferguson and his wife, Tonah of Avinger; Larry Ferguson and his wife, Christina of Rosevine; Vicky Sublett and her husband, Phil of San Augustine; Helen Currie and her husband, Kirk of Spring; Rusty Ferguson and his wife, Julie of Orange; Patti Walker and her husband, Derek of Pineland and Randy Ferguson and his wife, Tami of Joaquin, and Daughter-in-law, Tina Ferguson-Adair; His beloved Sisters, Margaret Oliver of Rosevine; Adell Burch of Rosevine; Geraldine Weatherford of Rosevine; Edna Cook of Silsbee; Irene Oliver of Pollock and Myrtle Boyd of San Antonio.

      He is preceded in death by his beloved son, Keith Dwayne Ferguson; his parents, Reta and James Ferguson
