      Blanche Finley Toole wroted Melinda Strong, in September 2000, that Edward "ran away and joined to Civil War at age 14. He was a Bugle Boy." Mackie and Kay McCary's transcription of the Meador Cemetery shows that his gravesite was marked with "Co. G. Col. Bradford's Inf Brig. - CSA"
