When he registered for the Draft in 1942 during World War II, he was a resident of Marin, California, and employed at the Mare Island Navy Yard. He cited Esther M. Cramer, living at the same address as he was, as a person who would always know his address. He appears to have been married several times. In 1910 he is enumerated with an Etta Cramer, wife, in Alameda, CA. In 1920 he is enumerated with a younger Esther Cramer in Bexar County, TX.
