    • Michael Bert Gilchriest, 73, of Beaumont, Texas passed away Monday, February 18, 2019 at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont.

      Michael was born January 23, 1946 in Hemphill, Texas to Clarence Bert Gilchriest and Esther Dorsey Gilchriest. He was a United States Army Veteran and later worked as a welder in the construction field. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and reading, in particular, reading his bible.

      He is survived by his brother, Pat Gilchriest and wife, Ruth Ann, of Beaumont, Texas; sister, Edwina Hall of Baytown, Texas; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

      He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Esther Gilchriest and his wife, Marsha Gilchriest.

      Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 21, 2019 in Starr Funeral Home Chapel, 510 Starr Street, Hemphill, Texas with Bro. Floyd Wright officiating.

      Burial will follow services in Gravel Hill cemetery under the direction of Starr Funeral Home.
