  Notes	Obituary, as copied from his FindAGrave memorial page, created by Jeff N April Alexander Sam Alfred "Al" Chance, 75, of Center, passed away Sunday, January 25, 2015 in Nacogdoches. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park in Center. A visitation will be held prior to the funeral service, beginning at 11:00 a.m. Mr. Chance was born February 15, 1939 in the Rosevine Community of Sabine County to Sam Houston Chance and Vera Phillips Chance. He retired from Education after forty-five years of service. Mr. Chance was Superintendent at Center ISD for twenty-five years and previously served as a Teacher and Assistant Principal at Orange ISD, Superintendent at Brady ISD, Principal at Drippings Springs ISD and Principal and Superintendent at Premont ISD. He was a member of Rotary Club and First Baptist Church in Center. He is survived by Wife: Carole Ann Chance of Center Sons: Brent Chance of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Chris Chance and wife, Jennifer, of Woodway, Texas Granddaughters: Madeline Chance Josephine Chance Brothers: Cecil Chance and wife, Ora Lee, of Broadus Clifton Chance of Nederland Sister: Brenda Posten and husband, Ken, of Vidor Uncle: Thomas Phillips of Garland Numerous niece, nephews, other relatives and friends Preceded in death by Son: Andrew Alfred "Andy" Chance Parents: Sam Houston Chance and Vera Phillips Chance Pallbearers will be Rayford Copelin, Bob Reeves, James Bible, Robert McCarson, Buster Bounds and David Chadwick. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Keith Miller, Dr. Danny Paul Windham, Joe West, Dr. Hughes, Kenneth Wilson, Dr. Dixon Golden and Dr. Singson.
