Ashley as a Private, enlisting in Company D, Mississippi 5th Infantry Regiment. Mrs. C. C. Ashley, age 70 and widowed applied for a Confederate Pension on 21 Mar 1902 in Anderson County, Texas. She stated they were married on 5 July 1852 in Clark County, Mississippi, and that he died 14 Oct 1888. His service was shown as with the First Miss. Reserves, about 9 months, before that was in service in Company B of the 14th Mississippi Regiment. From the Rootsweb ASHLEY-L Archives: I have Ezekiel Ashley who was married to Piety Pridgen and later to Catherine McLemore. I beleive he had a brother named James since he married Piety's sister. I believe he was born in Al but that is all I know about where he came from or his parents. If anyone has any info, I would love to hear from them.
