    • Friedman, Edwin ALBANY Edwin Friedman, 88, died on Monday, August 27, 2012 at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany after a short illness. Edwin was born in Schenectady, N.Y. to Arthur and Ella Friedman. He graduated from Nott Terrace High School in 1942 and graduated from Siena College in 1948 with a B.B.A. in accounting. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II for three years. After his military service he worked for the State of New York as an accountant for 33 years. He was a member of Congregation Beth Israel in Schenectady N.Y. and a resident of the Daughters of Sarah Nursing Center for the past year. Survivors include one son, Nelson Friedman of Schenectady, N.Y. He was predeceased by his wife of 43 years, Jeanette Friedman. He was also predeceased by his brothers, Herbert Friedman and Norman Friedman. He is also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews. The family wishes to extend their thanks to the staff at the Daughters of Sarah Nursing Center and also to the staff at St. Peter's Hospital for their support and caring. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday August 29, 2012 in Beth Israel Cemetery, Schermerhorn Road, Rotterdam, N.Y. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Congregation Beth Israel. 2195 Eastern Parkway, Schenectady, N.Y. 12309.
