    • Nellie Fay Impson, 70, of Hemphill, Texas passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at Hillside Nursing & Rehab.

      Nellie was born April 15, 1950 in Hemphill, Texas to William Roy Spears and Winnell Allen Spears. She was a lifetime resident of Sabine County and a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Gravel Hill. She worked in maintenance for Hemphill ISD.

      Nellie enjoyed collecting cookbooks, working in puzzle books, reading her Bible, and she really loved her grandbabies.

      She is survived by her son, Clint Impson and wife, Tanya of Yellowpine; brothers, William Spears and wife, Tana of Deer Park, Texas, Roy Lee Spears and wife, Betty Jo of Polock, Marlin Spears and wife, Melissa of Shelbyville, Texas; sisters, Linda Bailey and husband, Vernon of San Augustine, Shelia Martin and husband, Tommy of Hemphill, and Dianna McQuagge and husband, Doug of Panama City, Florida; grandchildren, Ashley, Josey and Macey; and great grandchildren, Aria, Jessa, and Emrie.

      She was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Lawrence Impson; and her parents, William and Winnel Spears.

      Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, July 24, 2020 at Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr Street, Hemphill, Texas.

      Funeral Services will begin at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 25, 2020 in Starr Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Don Snider officiating.

      Burial will follow services in Yellowpine Cemetery in Hemphill under the direction of Starr Funeral Home with Brandon Bailey, Richie Bailey, Tony Wilkerson, John Webb, Kevin Impson, Brian "Pookie" Martin, Blake Martin, and Gary Stewart serving as pallbearers.
