The will of her stepfather, Daniel McCarty, dated 1724, bequethed her a Bible and expressed the wish that she make good use of it. The present non-original record of this will names her as Elizabeth Sherman, which name, according to contemporaneous records of Westmoreland County, clearly should be Sturman.
