FindAGrave notes that he was a son of Martin Schabu and Catherine Herrmann, and that "Phillip immigrated to the USA with his father, mother and siblings shortly after his birth...his father didn't want his sons to go into the Kaiser's army so immigrated to the USA."

Phillipp married Mary Edith Cramer on 24 Jun 1903. Mary (daughter of Charles Henry Tecumseh Cramer and Cynthia C. Porter) was born on 28 Aug 1884 in Fostoria, Seneca County, Ohio; died on 20 Mar 1940 in Toledo, Lucas County, Ohio; was buried in Forest Cemetery, Toledo, Lucas County, Ohio. Lawrence was the son of Phillip Schaub and Mary "Edith" (Cramer) Schaub. He was a tool and dye maker at E. W. Bliss in Toledo, Ohio. He married Pauline Rose (Meyer) Schaub on 15 June 1927. They had one daughter, Shirley Jeanne.

From FindAGrave: She married Walter Bean on 6 June 1937. They had one daughter, Donivee. Mabel died of breast cancer at an early age. She is buried in the family plot and is next to her brother, Lawrence.
