Funeral services for Mrs. Eunice Lewing, 87, of Robeline were held Oct 29 in Robeline United Pentecost Church with the Rev. Rudolph B. Hennigan officiating. Burial was in McComic Cemetery under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home of Many. Pall bearers were Dough Scarbrough, Doug Bush, Ray Hardy, Jack Scarbrough, Herman Bush and Edward Naquin. Mrs. Lewing died in Many, Oct 28 after a short illness. Surviving relatives include two sons, Ellie McComic of Fisher and Howard McComic: three daughters, Sophronia Mae Webb, Mrs. Nellie Scarbrough and Mrs. Mary Bankston; a brother, Isaac Bush; nine grandchildren, and 24 great grandchildren.

Eunice married William Riley McComick about 1906. William (son of John McComic and Elizabeth Carter) was born on 19 Jun 1867 in Sabine Parish, Louisiana; died on 23 Jan 1923 in Sabine Parish, Louisiana; was buried in McComic Cemetery, Sabine Parish, Louisiana. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Mrs. Sophronia Webb, 66, died Friday, Feb. 23, in a Many hospital, following a brief illness.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 25, in the United Pentecostal Church near Robeline. Rudolph Hennigan, assisted by the Rev. James Stringer, officiated. Burial was in McComic Cemetery near Many, under the direction of Rockett-Nettles Funeral Home.

Survivors include her husband, Felix Webb; one daughter, Mrs. Bettie Hammons; one son, Ray Webb; two sisters, Mrs. Nellie Scarborough and Mrs. Mary Bankston; brothers, Edwin McComic, Lawrence McComic, John McComic and Melton McComic; one half sister, Mrs. Lizzie Bush; and eight grandchildren

Mrs. Nellie Scarborough, 77, of Robeline, died at Mesquite Community Hospital in Mesquite, Tex., on July 11, 1986, at 1:40 p.m.

Funeral services were held at Central Baptist Church, on July 13, 1986, at 4 p.m., with the Rev. Jerry Arthur, and Rev. Leroy James officiating. Burial was in the Central Baptist Church Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home.

She is survived by one son, Walter (Doug) Scarborough of San Antonio, Tex.; one daughter, Mary Moore of Royse City, Tex.; one brother, Howard McComic of Fort Jesup; and one sister, Mary Banks of Crossett, Ark.; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.

Sabine Index, Many, La., Nov 5, 1981

Funeral services for Mr. Ellie McComic of Fisher, were held at the Shady Grove Church of God on Wednesday, Oct. 21, at 2 p.m. The Rev. Bill White, and the Rev. Doyle Arender officiated. Burial followed in the Pine Knot Cemetery, under the direction of the Warren Meadows Funeral Home.

Mr. McComic died at Fraser Hospital South in Many, at 3:45 p.m., on Monday, Oct. 19, following an extended illness. He was 72.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Virgil Mae McComic; one daughter, Mrs. Eddie Jane Noovin; two brothers, Melton McComic and Howard McComic; two sisters, Mrs. Nellie Scarborough and Mrs. Mary Bankston three grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
