    Sabine County Justices of the Peace attended a 20-hour seminar in Tyler that was conducted by the Texas Justice Court Training Center headquartered at Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos. Attending were: Bobby White of Pct. 4; Thomas Hamilton of Pct. 1, Place 1; Daniel Featherston of Pct. 3; Clarice Clark of Ptc. 5; and Jimmy Clark of Pct. 2

    Obituary

    Bobby Glenn White, 76, of Bronson, Texas died at his home Monday, February 6, 2017. He was born in Sabine County, December 21, 1940, to William Curtis (1905-1990) and Freddie Miller White (1914-1985). Bobby attended Bronson I.S.D. for 12 years. He was Mr. Bronson high School, an FFA Officer, an Annual Staff member, Class Officer, Boy Scout, and a member of the Bronson Bulldogs basketball and baseball teams. Bobby graduated Bronson High School in 1959, going on to attend Lamar University where he earned an Associate's Degree. Bobby served two terms as a West Sabine I.S.D. School Board member, served as the Sabine County Precinct Two Justice of the Peace for eighteen years, and retired as a supervisor for Temple-Inland. He was a member of Pinehill Methodist Church.

    He is survived by his wife, Jean White, of Bronson, Texas; his two sons, Curtis White and wife, Brenda, and Rocky White and wife Margaret, all of Bronson; his brothers, Burl White and wife, Helen, and Earl White and his sister, Johnnie Phillips and husband, Glen, also all of Bronson, six grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

    Visitation will be held 5 pm to 9 pm, Tuesday, February 7, 2017, at Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr St., Hemphill, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at Starr Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Plainview Cemetery.

    Mrs. Johnnie Sue White Phillips, age 78, of Hemphill, Texas, passed away Saturday, November 27, 2021, in Hemphill, Texas.

    Born May 20, 1943, to parents William Curtis and Freddie (Miller) White, Mrs. Phillips was a native and lifelong resident of the Sabine County, Texas, area. She retired after several years of a successful career in real estate sales and development. Johnnie was the owner of Tryco Realty for 29 years.

    Her survivors include her husband, Glenn Arthur Phillips of Hemphill, Texas, a brother, Earl White of Hemphill, Texas; and sisters-in-law, Libbie Jones of Center, Texas, and Helen White of Hemphill, Texas; and a host of nieces and nephews.

    She was preceded in death by her father, William Curtis White; mother, Freddie Miller White; brothers, Bobby G. White and Burl White; and sisters-in-law, Mary Ann White and Jean White.

    A graveside service was set for 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at Plainview Cemetery, located at the intersection of FM 1 and FM 2024 near Pineland, Texas, with Bro. Floyd Wright officiating.

    Pallbearers: J.C. Helmer, Riley Helmer, Nason Helmer, Kenneth Brodie Jr., James Helmer, and Anthony Ridley. Honorary pallbearer: Sammy DuBose.

    Services were under the direction of Wyman Roberts Funeral Home in San Augustine, Texas.

    Pfc. Curtis Burl White, son of Mr. and Mrs. Curtis White of Pineland, was stationed with the U. S. Army - 270 Signal Company in Phi Bai, Vietnam.

    Obituary

    Curtis Burl White, 72, of Hemphill, Texas passed away Saturday, August 28, 2021 at his home on Highway 184.

    Burl was born in Hemphill, Texas on March 23, 1949 to William Curtis White and Freddie Miller White. After attending West Sabine High School, he entered the United States Army where he served in Vietnam in 1969. After his military service, he began working for Temple-Inland in Pineland where he worked as a saw filer until his retirement after 30 plus years.

    Burl enjoyed hunting and he loved spoiling his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

    Burl is survived by his wife of 52 years, Helen Waldrop White; sons, Kurtis White and wife, Tracy, of Pine Park Community and Brandon White and wife, Hannah, of Bronson; twin brother, Earl White of Hemphill; sister, Johnnie Sue Phillips and husband, Glenn, of Pine Park; grandchildren, Terra White and husband, Bryan Godeaux, Chelsi Woods and husband, Clayton Woods, Tyler White, BreeAnn White, Andrew Russell, and Bailee White; and great grandchildren, Prestin White, Lilly Godeaux, Colston Woods, and Cullen Woods.

    He was preceded in death by his parents Curtis and Freddie White; brother, Bobby White and wife, Jean; and sister-in-law, Mary Ann White.

    Military graveside services will begin at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 30, 2021 in Plainview Cemetery under the direction of Starr Funeral Home with Bro. David Ebarb officiating.

    Serving as pallbearers are Tyler Jones, Rocky White, Bradley White, Corey Ross, Logan Ermias, Curtis James White, Dustin White and Chris Jones. Providing military honors are the Sabine County Honor Guard.

    In lieu of flowers, it is the family's request that donations be made instead to Starr Funeral Home to offset funeral expenses.
