Emmie Beauchamp
Funeral services for Emmie Chambless Beauchamp, 86, of Hemphill were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the chapel of Starr Funeral Home Inc. in Hemphill with Bro. John C. Dowden officiating. Interment followed at Yellowpine Cemetery in Yellowpine.
Born May 1, 1098, in Fairdale as a daughter of the late William R. and Rilla Mae McDaniel, she was a longtime resident of Sabine County. She was a homemaker and a member of Hemphill's First United Methodist Church.
Survivors: a daughter, Billie Branson of Beaumont; a son Robert Chambless of Battle Mountain, Nevada; two sisters, Vera Smith and Dearian Love McDaniel, both of Hemphill; a brother, W. R. McDaniel of Jasper; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Nephews will be pallbearers.

William Robert "W. R." McDaniel, Jr., age 96 of Carthage, Texas and a former resident of Wiergate and Jasper, Texas died on Monday, January 19, 2009 in Tyler, Texas. He was born in Sabine Co., Texas on April 25, 1912 and was a retired carpenter.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Rachel Hamlet McDaniel, parents, William McDaniel and Rilla Martin McDaniel, brothers, Thorton, Leon and Albert McDaniel and sisters, Vera Smith, Emmie Chambless and Dearian McDaniel. He is survived by son, W. H. and wife, Fran of Haughton, La., son, Ray and wife, Ann of Carthage,Tx and daughter, Pat Brent and husband, Bob of New Braunfels, Tx., grandsons, Gary Westbrook, Phil Westbrook, Alan McDaniel, Brian McDaniel and Mike McDaniel, 1 granddaughter, Kim Housley and 15 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Thursday, January 22, 2009 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Smith Funeral Home in Newton with services to follow. Interment will be at Newton City Cemetery.

Dearian Love McDaniel
Dearian Love McDaniel, 87, of Hemphill died at 12:58 a.m. Thursday, April 17, 2003, at Hemphill Care Center. She was born Sept. 22, 1915, in Newton County and had lived in the Hemphill area several years. Mrs. McDaniel was a member of the Methodist Church. Survivors: husband, Nolan Ernest McDaniel of Hemphill; step-sons, Weldon McDaniel of Hemphill and James David McDaniel of Yellowpine; step-daughters, Margie Nell MILLER of Brookeland and Belinda Lee McDaniel of Silsbee; a brother W.R. McDANIEL of Jasper, six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday at the chapel of Starr Funeral Home in Hemphill with Bro. Vance Purtell and Bro. D.W. McCaseland officiating. Interment followed at the City Cemetery in Newton.

Elsie Kay, 100, died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003, at Byrd Medical Center in Leesville, La. Mrs. Kay was born April 29, 2002 (sic) 2, in Sabine County as a daughter of the late James Through and Ollie Elizabeth (McDaniel) McGRAW. She was a member of Freedom Rest Baptist Church. Survivors: six sons, Albert James KAY, LeRoy KAY, Virgil KAY, Clinton KAY, Buford Avon KAY, and William Earl KAY, all of Anacoco, La.; two daughters, Tommie Louise KEEL of Anacoco and Quinta Lea GOINS of Leesville; a sister Ruby WESTBROOK of Beaumont; 43 grandchildren; 98 great-grandchildren; 35 great-great grandchildren; and three great-great-great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Freedom Rest Baptist Church in Anacoco with Bro. Bud McCullough, Bro. M.L. Perry, and Bro. Tommy Smith officiating. Interment followed at Beech Grove Cemetery in Anacoco

Beatrice Rogers Weaver, 96, of Hemphill and a forty-five year resident of Lumberton passed from this life to meet her Savior on Tuesday January 17, 2017 in Hemphill, Texas.
Beatrice was born on September 3, 1920 in Sabine County, Texas to the late Miles Watson McDaniel and Ola McDaniel. She was preceded in death by her first husband; Coy Rogers, her daughter; Wanda Faye Harvill, her second husband; Houston Weaver, two brothers; Gay McDaniel, Wayne McDaniel, three sisters; Winnie Smith, Gladys Willis, and Mildred Hooks.
She is survived by her son; Robbie Coy Rogers, step-children, Houston Weaver, Jr., Donald Weaver, Carol Nichols, Linda Ross, grandchildren; Angie Harvill, Ashley Fiello, Justin Rogers, and several great grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She enjoyed crocheting, playing dominoes, and traveling. Beatrice was a faithful, longtime and founding member of Crestwood Baptist Church in Lumberton, Texas and in 2010 upon her move to Hemphill, Texas she became a member of the First Baptist Church.
Visitation will be held on Saturday January 21, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. until the Celebration of Life service at 3:00 p.m. at the Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont.

She was formerly a resident of Crockett, Texas, where she belonged to the First United Methodist Church and worked as an office clerk in the human resources insurance department.
Mrs. Hooks is survived by her husband Farrel S. Hooks of Hemphill, her sister Beatrice Weaver of Hemphill, numerous nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and great grand nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00PM, Friday, October 10, 2014, in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Six Mile Community, Hemphill, Texas.

Willie Lee McDaniel, 85, of Kirbyville, died Thursday, Dec. 26, 2002 at a Jasper Hospital. He was a native of Hemphill and had lived in Kirbyville for 57 years. McDaniel, a World War II veteran of the Army Signal Corps, was a retired merchant and painting contractor. Survivors: wife, Jean McDaniel of Kirbyville; daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Leonard HORN of Jasper, Diane KOLE of Houston, and Kathy and Jimmy DAWSON of Tyler; brothers, J.D. McDaniel of Jasper and Carroll McDaniel of Kirbyville; sisters Trudy FORSE of Sealy, and Bertha STUTTS and Louise MUSSELWHITE, both of Kirbyville; a sister-in-law, Eulene PROCELL and husband Eugene of Hemphill; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. Carrol Martin McDaniel, 76, of Kirbyville died Monday, July 10, 2006, at a Beaumont Hospital. McDaniel was a native of Sabinetown and had lived in Kirbyville several years. He was retired from Texaco as a pipefitter and was a Korean War veteran of the U.S. Army. Survivors: wife, Kathryn McDaniel of Kirbyville, son Michael McDaniel and wife Beth of Groves; step-daughters, Sharon HUFF of Orange and Karen SINGLETON and husband Gene of Bleakwood; brother and sisters, Louise MUSSELWHITE and Bertha Lee McDaniel STUTZ, of Kirbyville, J.D. McDANIEL of Jasper, and Trude FORSE of Sealy; eight grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Friday at the E.E. Stringer Chapel in Kirbyville. Alton Clifton "Slick" McDaniel died on September 16, 2007, after an illness.
He was born on June 10, 1927, and was a lifetime resident of Yellowpine, and a member of Operating Engineers Local 450.
Survivors: brother, R.L. McDaniel and wife, Bonnie of Yellowpine; sister, Ollie Faye Sparks of Yellowpine and Merlene Davidson of Hemphill.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Louise Coussons.
Funeral services were held in the Starr Funeral Home Chapel Tuesday, Sept. 18. Interment followed in Yellowpine Cemetery.

Merlene "Memmie" Davidson, 80, died in her home Tuesday morning, July 12, 2011, after an illness. She was born in Yellowpine, TX, to Leon Redic and Vada Solly McDaniel. Merlene has lived in Hemphill all her life and was a member of the Yellowpine Macedonia Baptist Church. She worked as a substitute teacher for the Hemphill ISD and as a clerk in retail sales.
She is survived by her daughter Diana Davidson of Hemphill, her brother R.L. McDaniel and his wife Bonnie of Yellowpine, her sister Ollie Faye Sparks of Yellowpine and numerous nieces and nephews. Merlene was preceded in death by her husband Billy Davidson, her son David Leon Davidson, her brother Clifton McDaniel, her sister Louise Coussons and nephew Ray Coussons.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday, July 14, in the Yellowpine Macedonia Baptist Church. Burial followed in the Yellowpine Cemetery.
Donations to the Yellowpine Macedonia Baptist Church or Yellowpine Cemetery would be appreciated by the family.

Louise McDaniel Coussons, 70, of Nacogdoches died Saturday, April 22, 2006, at Memorial Hospital in Nacogdoches.
Mrs. Coussons was born Dec. 1, 1935, in Sabine County and had formerly lived in Johnson City before moving to Nacogdoches eight years ago. She was a member of Old North Church in Nacogdoches and was a retired school secretary and legal secretary. Survivors: her husband of 51 years, Sammy Coussons of Nacogdoches, Son, John Coussons and wife Sheila of Chickasha, Oklahoma; daughter, Beth MOCK and husband Cliff of Alvin; brothers, Clifton McDANIEL and R.L. Raymond Robert Mattox, a just and noble man, went to his rest Sunday, January 4, 2009, in his home. He was born in Brookeland, TX, to Lee and Ettie McGraw Mattox on Dec. 27, 1930. He grew up in the green beauty of Sabine County always loving the outdoors. Cotton as he was known because of his pure white hair, was a loving and caring child who grew to be a loving and caring man. He was a veteran, a member of the American Legion, a lifetime member of the Sons of the Rupublic of Texas, and a Christian. He worked as a supervisor with the Ethyl Chemical Co. in Houston, TX. after he retired in 1986, he moved back home to Sabine County with his wife Hazel. His grieving loved ones that remain are: his daughter, Rebecca Mattox AuClaire and husband Francis Bubba of Hemphill, his granddaughter, Allison Joy Mattox of Hemphill, his brother, J.H. Mattox of Conroe, and his sister, Arlene Nash of Conroe. Raymond was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 50 years, Hazel. Also his grandson, Sean Mattox Seitz, his sister Roberta Bice, and brothers, Milton, James, J.T., Paul Raymond Mattox. Wade McGraw, age 66, of Hemphill, Texas was born January 10, 1951 at home in Fairdale, Texas to Arbie and Ruth McGraw.
He graduated from Hemphill HS in 1969, moved to Cold Spring, Texas returned to Hemphill in 1972 and spent the rest of his life in Sabine County.
He was a self-employed cabinet builder of 44 years. His talents can be seen in numerous homes all over East Texas, Louisiana and even in Hershey, Pennsylvania.
Wade was a man of God. He attended and served as a deacon at East Mayfield Baptist Church for many years. He loved the Lord, his wife, his family and his friends. He touched countless lives during his time on this Earth. If you met Wade McGraw once, you never forgot him. Wade was a loved son, a loving husband, loved and respected father, grandfather, uncle, brother and friend. He was a talented builder, designer, musician, artist and teacher of life lessons and God's word.
Wade was married over 40 years to Kathy Webb McGraw. He is survived by his wife and three children and their spouses: Leslie and Richie Huval, Tom and April McGraw and Lee and Seleah McGraw, all of Tyler, Texas. He was also blessed with six grandchildren: Timothy, Ruthie, Adam and Lilli Huval, Koen and Jensen McGraw and one on the way. He is also survived by two brothers, Frayne and Terry, and a sister, Christine.
A celebration of Wade's life will be held on Monday, 11am, at Starr Funeral Home, with burial following at Gravelhill Cemetery.
The visitation will be Sunday night 5-8pm.

Larry was born in Jasper, Texas on August 10, 1954 to Gay Alex McDaniel and Evelyn Brooks McDaniel. He was a lifetime resident of Sabine County and a graduate of Hemphill ISD. He worked as a handyman in Hemphill which gave him the opportunity to visit with everyone around town. He liked to fish occasionally, but his favorite thing to do by far was talking to, laughing with, and joking around with his many friends and loved ones. He was truly one of a kind and will be missed by all.
Larry is survived by his brother, Glenn McDaniel and wife, Lisa, of Milam; sister, Linda McSwain of Hemphill; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gay and Evelyn McDaniel.
Graveside services will begin at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 12, 2022 in Oak Hill Cemetery under the direction of Starr Funeral Home with Bro. Floyd Wright officiating.
Serving as pallbearers are Alex McSwain, Nick McSwain, Miles McDaniel, Jeremy McDaniel, Darren Lowe and Connor McDaniel.

Martin Kent McDaniel
Martin Kent McDaniel, 45, of New Braunfels went to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2011, at Methodist Hospital in San Antonio.
Born in Orange on Feb. 11, 1966, he was the loving husband of Ramona Dee Kinder McDaniel, and the amazing father of Blake Kent McDaniel and Meagan Jo McDaniel.
McDaniel was preceded in death by his father, Miles Wayne McDaniel.
He is survived by his wife, Ramona McDaniel; son Blake McDaniel; daughter, Meagan McDaniel; mother, Kathy McDaniel; brother, Michael McDaniel; sister Donna McDaniel Enloe and a host of friends, family and his extended "Corrections" family.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 19, at Claybar Funeral Home chapel in Orange with Rev. Randy J. Blanton officiating.
Graveside services followed at Oak Hill Cemetery near Hemphill, in Sabine County.
Pallbearers: Butch Head, Jason Jones, James Murphy, David McComis, Dwight Sims, Charles Cooper, David Cole, and Dean Caldwell.
Services were under the direction of Claybar Home, Orange.

Betty Lucille Temple, 70, of Groves died Saturday, Oct. 30, 2004 at her residence. Mrs. Temple was born Nov. 3, 1933 as a daughter of the late Elizabeth (Franklin) and Brady Ross McDaniel and had lived in the Groves area several years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Groves and the Groves Chapter Order of the Eastern Star. She had been employed by the City of Groves as an elemetary school crossing guard for several years. Survivors: three daughters, Pam Thrasher of Rutherfordton, North Carolina, Sharon Murdock of Groves, and Karen Cawley of Nederland; a son Wayne Temple of Nederland; a sister, Mary Beth ISENBLITTER of Nederland; seven grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Ernest Temple. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2, at the chapel of Levingston Funeral Home in Groves, with Dr. Joe Worley officiating. Interment followed at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.

Kathy Dawson, 62, of Tyler, Texas died Friday, March 3, 2016, at Avalon Place in Kirbyville.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 6, at Adams EE Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville with burial at Kirbyville Cemetery. Visitation will be 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Born Aug. 24, 1954 in Kirbyville, Texas to Jean (Ener) & Willis Lee McDaniel, she had lived in Tyler 20 years and previously in Kirbyville. She was an accountant at the airport in Tyler.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie & Jean McDaniel.
Survivors include her sons, Sam Ferrell & Brandy and Benji Ferrell both of Kirbyville, and Nick Dawson and Daniel Burns both of Tyler; a daughter, Kristin Ferrell of Kirbyville; sisters, Daine Kole of Houston, and Mary Horn & Leonard of Jasper; and 4 grandchildren, Rhys Ferrell, Trenton Ferrell, Collih Ferrell, and Lukas Quiroz.
