Notes:

In 1916, Austin and Flossie moved to a farm near Bismark, North Dakota, where they lived for the next eleven years. They then moved to Hay Brook Township, near Isle (Mille Lacs County, Minnesota), where they lived until his death. Austin died in Onamia Hospital after a car accident. He was survived by his wife, one son, one grandchild, and two great grandchildren.

Austin married Florence Phinney on 1 May 1906 in Oconto, Custer County, Nebraska. Florence (daughter of William Frank Phinney and Elizabeth Bossert) was born on 10 Oct 1887 in Cassville, Grant County, Wisconsin; died on 21 Oct 1983 in Brainerd, Crow Wing County, Minnesota; was buried on 25 Oct 1983 in Sunset Park Cemetery, Isle, Mill Lacs County, Minnesota.
