His registration for the draft during World War I showed his as a carpenter for Kirby Lumber Co of Bronson. He was also shown as a resident of Bronson, with his nearest relative being Mrs. Eva Birdwell. He was shown as of medium heighth, medium build, with blue eyes and black hair.

Artie Birdwell Pike

Artie Birdwell Pike, 84, of Garrison died Sept. 23, 1999, in Garrison.

Mrs. Pike was born Jun 27, 1915 in Bronson as a daughter of the late Elbert and Evie Roberts Birdwell.

Survivors: sons and daughters-in-law, Joe Pike of Garrison and David and Tempie Pike of Timpson; two daughters, Peggy Pike of Houston and Patsy Rogers of the Woodlands; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert Pike; a son, Carol Pike; and a daughter, Jimmie Lou Curbow.

Funeral services were held Sept. 24 at the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home in Timpson with Bro. Norman McDonald officiating. Interment followed at Corinth Cemetery near Timpson.
