    Even though he was listed as Elvis Kuykendall on the 1860 census, Linda Kuykendall wrote that "Elvis was a Stinnett his mother wed Alfred Kuykendall as his second wife. Elvis was the son of Dabney Stinnett. My Dad knew G. G. (George Graham) Kuykendall. G.G. and his stepbrother Elvis were close friends. Elvis was knocked down by big dog coming out of a shop in Carmi and died."

    Elvis Stinnett died Thurs morning after suffering a fall when a big hound, running down the sidewalk, knocked his feet from under him. He received a fractured skull from the fall. The accident happened in front of Fred Brandt's Shop near his home. Born in Todd Co., Ky, in 1843, died 19 Dec 1918. Son of Dabney K. and Susan Britton Stinnett. His father died in 1845 and was buried near Elkton, Ky. Married 1867 to Emor Clark near Phillipstown. One of the founders and first trustees of McHenry Methodist Church. Burial Kuykendall Cemetery. Born March 13 1843 75 years 9 months 6 days. After father's death, his mother married Alfred Kuykendall.
