Betsey Maria Jones

When she wrote Benjamin Dwight, in reply to his query about the genealogy of the Jones family, Betsey had the following poignant observation "My husband has been dead 26 years; I am now 82 years old; I have no children; I am the last leaf on the family tree." (Dwight, p. 159).

Betsey married Deacon John Bayley on 27 Apr 1830 in Whitesboro, Oneida County, New York. John was born about 1777 in Shropshire, England; died about 1844 in Florence, Oneida County, New York. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
