Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with family present from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Farmer & Son Funeral Home - Kotas Chapel in Milligan, Nebraska.

It is Duane's wishes to be cremated following the funeral service.

Private Family Burial of Ashes will take place at a later date in the Tobias Cemetery in rural Tobias, Nebraska.

Casual Dress is requested by Duane's family.

Memorials are to be directed to Jefferson Community Health & Life Hospital or the Western Fire Department.

Duane D. Dlouhy was born to Joseph and Evelyn (Uldrich) Dlouhy on September 19, 1941 in Tobias, Nebraska, and passed away on June 6, 2022 at Jefferson Community Hospital in Fairbury, Nebraska surrounded by his wife, Kathryn, of 59 years, his daughter and his two grandsons. He was 80 years of age.

When Duane was a year old, he lost mother and was raised by his grandparents and aunts and uncles until his father was able to take care of him and raise him with the help of friends. He graduated from Tobias High School in 1959 and was most proud of being on the State Basketball Championship team. After graduating he enrolled in airline school in Chicago with a high school classmate.

Duane worked numerous jobs in his working life...to name a few, Omar Man, Tiney's Electric Company and Postmaster.

In 1963, he married a small-town girl from Western, Kathryn Schmidt, and lived in Lincoln where their only daughter, Kim, was born.

His love for sports was his entertainment, he was an avid Husker fan and went to many games, one of the most memorable following them to Hawaii with a group of close friends. His favorite sport to play was softball which he played in Lincoln and continued playing when he moved to Daykin where he became the Postmaster. Of course, there was always a cooler of adult beverages taken along on these softball games for "relaxation" purposes following the win or loss. The fun they had road tripping home from softball games usually had stops in corn fields to grab some ears of corn for a supper/snack when he got home. His team's softball parties were always a highlight and enjoyable for Duane and Kathryn.

After retiring from his Postmaster job in Daykin in 1998 Duane and Kathryn moved to Branson, Missouri to be closer to their daughter and two grandsons and were a major part in raising them because of this their grandsons chose to change their last name to Dlouhy, Duane was so proud.

While living in Branson, Duane work at Osmond Family Theater as a part-time job, as an usher but refused to carry a candle at the end of the show to sing "Silent Night". He also worked for Silver Dollar City as a brochure distributor and enjoyed driving his van to all the theaters and restaurants.

After years down in Branson, Missouri Duane and Kathryn decided to move back to Nebraska and reside in Western after their grandsons decided to come to Nebraska for college and small-town life.

With his grandsons going off to college, he and Kathryn became "empty nesters" and started spending their winters down at South Padre Island in Texas where they enjoyed friends and the warm weather.

Duane lived his life to the fullest!!

He leaves behind his wife, Kathryn; daughter, Kim and husband, Tim Tuley; grandson, Josh Dlouhy; grandson, Hayden and wife, Laine Dlouhy and a great-grandson on the way.

Glen Soukup, passed away on Tuesday March 1st, 2022, at home. Glen was born to Frank and Allene Soukup on Feb. 1st, 1942, in Lincoln, Nebraska. He attended Lincoln Public Schools, graduating from Lincoln High School in 1959. He then attended the University of Nebraska obtaining his undergraduate degree and was an esteemed member of the Golden Key Society. Glen then continued his education at the University of Nebraska College of Law earning a Juris Doctorate of Law in 1967. He was proud to have worked for Nebraska Governor James Exon's administration as Director of the State Technical Assistance Agency for several years. He then went on to pursue personal business ventures.

Glen was a lifelong resident of Lincoln, spending a good portion of time at his fishing cabin/summer home, also known as "The Castle in the Canyon" located at Decker's, Colorado. Some of his favorite times were spent enjoying his specialty "Mountain Margaritas" and red beers, or a jack and coke on the upper deck. He loved watching the hummingbirds and afternoon showers from his canyon view veranda, evenings with Trudy breathing in the fresh mountain air, and all times spent with his favorite Golden Retriever, Dylan. Glen will be fondly remembered by family and friends for generously hosting so many at his beloved cabin, and for always sharing the beautiful sights the Colorado mountains had to offer.

In earlier years he and his daughter Nicholle enjoyed spending time at his mother's farms near Crete and Wilber, experiencing nature and farm life while embracing their Czech culture with family. During the last few years though his health began to fail he did his best to maintain close relationships with family and friends and enjoyed many games of cards while partaking in a few adult beverages.

Glen was preceded in death by his father Frank H. Soukup, mother Allene B. Tesar, brother Kenneth J. Tesar, sister-in-law Linda S. Soukup, and the best dog ever Dylan "Doolittle" Soukup.

Glen is survived by daughter Nicholle Soukup of Norfolk, granddaughter Haleigh Kappel of Lincoln. grandson Holden Soukup of Central City, and great grandson Trace Reynolds of Lincoln. Brother Allen (Janice) Soukup, nephew Kelsey Soukup all of Lincoln, and niece Jessica (Michael) Zmek of Archer. Sister Jo Ann (Steve) Kroll, nephew Peter Kroll, and nephew Jeremiah (Megan) Kroll all of Lincoln. Brother Gregory Soukup, nephew Frank (Kim) Soukup, and nephew James (Liz) Soukup all of Lincoln. Sister in law Marianne Tesar of Crete, niece Ashley Tesar of Lincoln, and niece Whitney (Ryan) Peterson of Palmer, MN. Long time special friend Trudy Townley of Lincoln. He is also survived by many great nephews and nieces, cousins- many of whom were like siblings to him, his church family at Four Square church, and of course many dear friends.

The Glen Soukup family would like to extend a very heartfelt, and appreciative THANK YOU to all whom helped Glen in recent years. Being very strong in his faith Glen would always say "the good Lord will take care of me", we may all now rest assured that has been done.

You'd often find him eating fish at Bee, Nebraska on Friday evenings and listening to classic rock and George Strait from his recliner at home.
