    Notes:

    Cecil Emil Eicke passed from his earthly home to be with his Heavenly father Thursday, March 4, 2010 following a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's. Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 7, at River Pointe Church, 5000 Ransom Road in Richmond. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. Pastor Patrick Kelley will officiate the services. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, March 6, at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Chapel in Rosenberg.

    Cecil was born Feb. 10, 1935 in Bronson, to Will and Lura Mae Eicke. He graduated from Bronson High School and subsequently went to work on a seismic crew in Wyoming. Upon his return to Texas, Cecil started college at the age of 27. He earned a bachelor of business administration from the University of Houston at the age of 35 while working and raising a family. After several years of working in the oil field business, Cecil established his own oil field service company, United Surveys, Inc. in Rosenberg. He worked very hard at building a successful business and enjoyed "going to the office". His favorite hobbies included working, cooking, reading, and taking long drives. He was a member of River Pointe Church in Richmond, and the Society of Petroleum Engineers.

    Cecil is preceded in death by his parents, Will and Lura Eicke; daughter, Claudia Joan Eicke; brother, Col. George Eicke; and son-in-law, Gary Karm.

    Survivors left to cherish his memories included his wife of 33 years, Marjorie Harkrider Eicke; daughter, Bobbie Sue Karm; son, Scott Eicke and wife, Sheila; grandchildren, Hannah, Rebekah and Jackson Eicke; stepdaughters, Laura and Val Jones, and Susan and Cristo Kitras and their children, King and Meredith Jones, and Carolina, Christos, and Stefanos Kitras; two sisters, Emily and husband, Herman McClinton, and Louise and husband, Henry Childs; two brothers, William "Bud" Bradford Eicke Jr., and Paul David Eicke; seven nephews; three nieces; and his loyal personal friends, Domingo and Lucy Rodriguez, and their children, Marisol and Eric.

    For those wishing, memorial donations in Cecil's name may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Houston and Southeast Chapter, 2242 West Holcombe Blvd., Houston, Texas 77030-2008.
