The completed form SS-5 also has 1885 as his year of birth, so it is assumed this is more accurate than the census. He completed his application on November 2, 1940, and listed his address at that time as Rt. 2, Collins, Miss., his place of birth as Hazelhurst, Copiah, Miss. and his parents as Jesse CAGLE and Lizzie CAGLE, with the phrase "same name" listed in parenthesis after his mother's name. Walter was age 55, and no longer employed.
