    Lathern Clark, 83, of Route 4, Hemphill, died at 2:30 a.m. Thursday, April 17, 1997, at Sabine County Hospital.

    Clark, born Feb. 15, 1997 (sic) in Louisiana, had lived in the Hemphill/Pineland area most of his life and was retired from the timber industry, employed to Temple-Inland Forest Products. He was a member of the East Mayfield Baptist Church and Littleton Fowler Masonic Lodge #305 in Hemphill.

    Survivors: wife, Naomi J. Clark of Hemphill; sons, Lathern Paul Clark of Bossier City, La., Commissioner Keith C. Clark of Hemphill, and David Wayne Clark of Pasedena; daughters, Bobbie Merrell Herrington of Pineland, Sue Nell Medley of Burkeville, Joanne Harley of Hemphill, and Wanda Hines of Morris Town, Tennessee; sisters, Audie Armstrong and Gladys Boone, both of Hemphill; 23 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

    Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Riday at the chapel of Starr Funeral Home Inc. in Hemphill with Bro. W. Clarence Howll, Bro. Bob Arthur, and Bro. Cecil Pembleton officiating. Interment was at Harper's Chapel Cemetery near Hemphill.

    Gladys Boone, 86, of Hemphill died Sunday, Sept. 25, 2005, at her residence.

    Mrs. Boone was born Aug. 21, 1919, in Hemphill as a daughter of the late Annie (Presley) and Lee Clark and had been a lifelong area resident. She was retired from Holly Farms as a hatchery worker and a member of East Mayfield Baptist Church.

    Survivors: daughters, Carldean Buxton of Jasper and Juanita Merchant of Hempill; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

    Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel of Starr Funeral Home Inc. in Hemphill with Bro. Floyd Wright officiating.

    Services were under the direction of Starr Funeral Home Inc in Hemphill.

    Audie Inez Armstrong

    Audie Inez Armstrong, 82, of Hemphill died at 8:35 a.m Sunday, Dec. 28, 2003 at Woodland Heights Medical Center in Lufkin.

    She was born Nov. 17, 1921, as a daughter of the late Annie Margaret (Presley) and Lee Clark and had been a lifelong resident of Sabine County.* Mrs. Armstrong was a retired grader, working with Temple-Inland Forest Products.

    Survivors: a grandson, James Foster, Jr. and wife Rachael of Pineland; a great-grandson, Corbin Foster of Pineland; and a great-granddaughter, Chelsey Nichols of Pineland.

    Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel of Starr Funeral Home Inc. in Hemphill with Bro. Wayne Mote officiating. Interment followed at Harper's Chapel Cemetery, in Sabine County.

    Keith Clent Clark, 71, died Sunday, Nov. 6, 2011, in the Woodland Heights Hospital in Lufkin.

    Clark was born in Hemphill to Lathern and Murrell Foster Clark and was a lifetime resident of Sabine County. He was serving as a Sabine County Commissioner at the time of his death. He is also a member of the Sexton Masonic Lodge #251, Eastern Star, Sons of the Republic of Texas and the First Baptist Church in Hemphill.

    He is survived by his wife Louise Clark of Hemphill, daughter Becky Nix of Hemphill, three sons; Dennis Clark of Mont Belvieu, Jeff Clark and his wife Elaine of Crosby, and Brian Clark and his wife Amber of Mont Belvieu, 11 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Paul Clark and his wife Bonnie of Bossier City, LA and four sisters; Bobbie Herrington of Pineland, Sue Nell Medley of Jacksonville, JoAnn Harley of Pineland and Wanda Hines of Morristown, TN.

    Funeral services were held Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2011, in the Starr Funeral Home Chapel. Masonic graveside services followed in the Harpers Chapel Cemetery, Hemphill.

She was a lifetime resident of Sabine County and she was a health care worker before her retirement. She was a member of the Church of God and the Hemphill Chapter of the Eastern Star. She was a loving mother who enjoyed spending her time with her children and grandchildren.

    Joann is survived by her daughter, Renee' Russell and husband, Mark, of Pineland; sons, Stanley Harley and wife, Rhonda, of Angleton, Kelvin Harley and wife, Tori, of Hemphill, and Brent Harley and wife, Erica, of Angelton; brothers, David Clark and wife, Lisa, of Dayton and Paul Clark of Bossier City; sister, Wanda Hines of San Augustine; special cousin, Patty Helmer; Ashley Short, who was like child of her own; twelve grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

    She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Bobbie Herrington, Sue Medley and Keith Clark.

    Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, August 13, 2021 at Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr Street, Hemphill, Texas.

    Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 14, 2021 in Starr Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Floyd Wright officiating.

    Burial will follow services in Bronson Cemetery with her grandsons, Dustin Parrish, Colton Harley, Dylan Harley, Trevor Harley, Justin Russell, and Kade Harley serving as pallbearers. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Marty Griffin and Jason Morris.

    Funeral services for Ronald "Ronny" Herrington, 58, of Lufkin will be held in the Greater Love Tabernacle. Graveside services will be held in the Pineland Cemetery in Pineland.

    Mr. Herrington was born October 9, 1958 in Pineland, Texas to Bobbie M. (Clark) and the late Charles E. Herrington, and died Tuesday, December 6, 2016 in Lufkin.

    Mr. Herrington had resided in Lufkin for the past 26 years and in Huntington prior to that. He worked in Maintenance at Perry Brothers for more than 15 years and also at Hudson High School. He loved computers, science fiction, hunting and painting. Mr. Herrington loved to laugh and make others laugh. He was a member of Greater Love Tabernacle UPC.

    Survivors include his wife, Carla Herrington; son and daughter-in-law, Johnathan Golembiewski and Margaret; mother, Bobbie Herrington; sister and brother-in-law, Linda Dale and Randy; brother and sister-in-law, James R. Herrington and Maryd; brother, Samuel R. Herrington; father-in-law and wife, Joe and Ruby Goins; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, David and Shelia Goins; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

    He was preceded in death by his father, Charles E. Herrington and mother-in-law, LaVerne Goins.
