William is shown married to a Charity on the 1860 census, a Lucinda on the 1870 census, and a Jeminah on the 1880 census. Each of the census enumerations were in Lawrence County, Alabama. However, transcriptions for only his marriages to Charity and Gemima were found, Perhaps Charity was simply a nickname Lucinda went by.

Charity married William A. McLemore on 11 Feb 1845 in Lawrence County, Alabama. William was born between 1818 and 1821 in Alabama; died about 1905; was buried in McLemore Cemetery, Lawrence County, Alabama. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

His middle initial appears to be shown as "A" on the 1860 census and as "H" on the 1870 census.

Rosemary Hollis shows that he married Minnie Dodd, and that they were the paretns of Gaymun and Chamles.

It may be, however, another James McLemore that she is confusing him with. According to the census record below, the James McLemore whom was married to Minnie, and the father of Gainum, was born much later..in March 1872. Perhaps the James that married Minnie was actually a son of James McLemore?
