    Major John McLemore, USAF, Retired, passed peacefully in his Austin home Saturday, August 1, 2015 at the age of 84 years. Major McLemore was born February 8, 1931 in Wise, Virginia.

    John was married to Thelma Roberts for 60 1/2 years. John is survived by his and Thelma's four children, Gregory Scott McLemore (wife Matilde), Deborah Lynn McLemore, Karen Beth McLemore Craig (husband David) and Jennifer Lea McLemore Ready (husband Frank). John is also survived by his sisters Barbara Stevenson of Lexington, KY and Betty Roberts of Wise, VA as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

    John and Thelma have 10 grandchildren, Justin McLemore, Megan McLemore, Logan McLemore, Colton Craig, Cosette Craig, Scarlet Craig, Cullen Perry, Staton Perry, Haylee Adams and Ella Ready.

    Known to the family as "Pop", Pop was a gracious gentleman and loved his family deeply.

    A private burial will be held Tuesday, August 4, 2015, for family, at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, 11463 State Highway 195, Killeen, Texas 76542, 254-616-1770.

    Public Church Memorial Services for a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2015, at 3:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Round Rock Texas, 306 Round Rock Avenue, Round Rock, Texas, 78664, 512-255-3454.
