Kay Parker McCary, on her annotated transcription of Sabine County's Myrtle Spring's cemetery, shows he was a twin to Earl H. Smith. It is assumed, therefore, that he was born in 1912, not 1913, as is transcribed.

Clyde V. Smith, 92, of Geneva died Monday, Nov. 27, 2006 at Memorial Hospice in the Pines at Lufkin. Funeral services are tentatively set for 2 p.m. today (Wednesday) at the chapel of Starr Funeral Home Inc. in Hemphill. Interment will follow at Myrtle Spring Cemetery in Geneva. Memorials may be made to Hospice in the Pines Inpatient at 116 Raguet St., Lufkin, TX 75904.

Clyde, of Geneva, was born to Eugene and Prince Anna Dorsey Smith.

He passed from this earth at Memorial Hospice in the Pine following a brief illness.

Survivors include his daughter, Alice Blackmon and husband, Jerry; son, Bobby Smith and wife, June; three grandchildren, Debra Peterson, Bridgett Jones Brilye and Clint Smith and seven great grandchildren; sister, Iva Belle; brother, Hugh Smith and wife, Eura Mae.

Preceding him in death was his wife of fifty seven years, Rosa Lee Conner Smith and son, Clyde Raymon Smith.
