    Edward Bulin, a cousin of Jame's wife Mary Bulin Bors, was employed at the James Bors Garage as a Mechanic for many years. After the passing of James Bors in 1943, Edward went into partnership with James Bors's sons-in-law; Deryl Hillis and Charles Baer, being in the Ford dealership. (Milligan, pp 215 - 216).

    Notes:

    On Dec. 24, 2021, LaVern Tesar, son of John and Elsie (Slepicka) Tesar, passed away at home in Kennewick, Washington, from heart failure. He recently celebrated his 94th birthday Dec. 18 with his extended family.

    Vern was born on a farm near Exeter, then the family moved near Tobias, where he started grade school at the age of 4. The first few years of high school were in Milligan with graduation from Wilber High School. After three and one-half years serving in the Navy during World War II, he was married to Marjory Beck (daughter of Ed and Alice Beck) of Wilber on July 12, 1950. Vern received an Associates degree in electronics from Valparaiso Technical School and was hired by IBM, where he worked for 31 years. He became plant manager at the Boulder, Colorado, IBM facility.

    While in retirement, he held jobs as a deputy sheriff, real estate salesman, search and rescue volunteer, Meals on Wheels driver and senior center cook. He was an avid elk hunter and craftsman, building a home in the Colorado mountains. After he moved to Washington state, he could often be found in the orchards picking the apples and cherries missed by the professional crews. He enjoyed salmon fishing, and clamming and crabbing ar the beaches. He was always ready to help friends during branding time, pushing cows through the squeeze chute. Vern enjoyed family time listening to Big Joe and Molly B polka music. Marjory and Vern enjoyed traveling to many locations around the world.

    Vern is survived by his wife Marjory, and their three children, Randy, Gaye and Jon. He enjoyed the expansion of the family in recent years with seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Elaine, Darlene, Johnnie, Delyte, Rene and Vicki. His parents and brother, Larry, preceded him in death.

    Vern will always be remembered as a very social person who enjoyed bringing people together. His family and his role in the family were very important to him. He will be missed by his family and friends.

    Vern's ashes will be interred at the Wilber Czech Cemetery. Due to Covid concerns. a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

    Obituary for Carolyn F. Rischling

    A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, November 3, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Milligan, Nebraska. Pastor Murry Johnston will preside over the Funeral Service.

    A Graveside Service will be held in the Bohemian National Cemetery following the Funeral Service.

    Visitation will be on Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with family present from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Farmer & Son Funeral Home - Kotas Chapel in Milligan, Nebraska.

    Memorials are suggested to the Milligan American Legion or the Milligan Fire & Rescue.

    Carolyn Fern Rischling was born on June 11, 1937, in Lincoln, Nebraska to Frank and Mildred (Uldrich) Naimon with her twin brother Verlyn at St Elizabeth's hospital. She passed away at the Bertrand Nursing Home in Bertrand, Nebraska at the age of 85 years, 4 months, and 18 days.

    Carolyn grew up on a farm east of Geneva and graduated from Geneva Public School in 1954.She worked for Koehler's grain elevator for three years in Geneva after graduation. Carolyn then moved to Denver with three of her friends from Geneva. They lived there for three years before returning back to Lincoln. While living in Lincoln, she met her husband, Bob, at a dance in Milligan.

    Carolyn was married to Bob "Duke" Rischling at the Geneva United Methodist Church on June 15, 1968. They had a son Ryan who was born August 11, 1970, and daughter Marci who was born May 30, 1974.
    She was a member of the Legion Auxiliary post #240 in Milligan for 55 years and the Milligan United Methodist Church. During harvest season in summer and fall, she helped Duke at the grain facilities that he managed. In 1985, she became the post master relief in Milligan and did that for 24 years. Duke and Carolyn were married for over 46 years before his passing in 2015.

    Carolyn moved out to the Bertrand Nursing Home in June of 2015. She stayed active by attending her grandchildren's events as long as she could. She loved reading, listening to books, playing cards and doing puzzles.

    She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Rischling; parents Frank and Mildred Naimon; in-laws Adolph and Mary Rischling; brothers-in-law Ron Korbelik, Dean Placek, James Luzum, Jr., and Al Kudlacek; sisters-in-law Arlene Luzum and Kathy Rischling; nephews Paul Placek and Jay Luzum; and niece Kim Luzum.

    She is survived by her son Ryan and wife Teresa Rischling of Bennington, Nebraska; daughter Marci Stewart and husband Dusty of Atlanta, Nebraska; grandchildren Austin and Jessie Rischling of Memphis, Tennessee, Riley Rischling and fianc? Jordan Coulter of Fort Calhoun, Nebraska, Jackson Rischling of Omaha, Nebraska, Hanna and Carly Stewart of Atlanta, Nebraska; brother and sister-in-law Verlyn and Lois Naimon of Fremont, Nebraska; sister Elaine Korbelik of Milligan, Nebraska; brother-in-law Dick Rischling of Milligan, Nebraska; sisters-in-law Irma Kudlacek of Geneva, Nebraska and Alma Placek of Milligan, Nebraska; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
