    Notes:

    Margaret Pope McLemore, 90, creator of the Garden for the Blind in Hazlehurst, Miss., died on Sept. 21, 2004, in New Albany. She was the daughter of Moran McLelland Pope and Florence Burrows Pope.

    Services were Sept. 24 at the First United Methodist Church in New Albany, where she had been an active member since 1999.

    One of her greatest accomplishments was the creation of the Garden for the Blind in 1999, when she was 85 years old, honoring Mac who is legally blind and the many workers at Signature Works, the largest employer of the visually impaired in the State of Mississippi.

    Survivors include her husband, Bryan Simmons McLemore; her daughters, Laura Lynn Kerner of Athens, Ala., and Nina McLemore Baker of New York and Washington D.C.; her grandchildren; her great-grandchildren; her sister, Nina Cotton Wallace of Diamond Head; and her brother, Moran McLelland Pope Jr. of Hattiesburg.
