Paule Hazel Buckley Forbes, affectionately known by her friends as Paula, was killed in an automobile accident of Thursday, December 17, 1998, in Houston. She was 84. Mrs. Forbes was born in San Augustine, Texas on June 18, 1914, to John C. Buckley and Mary P. Ellison Buckley. Paula was one of the original Rocketts at Radio City Music Hall in New York City, New York. After leaving the Rocketts, she enjoyed traveling and seeing the world. Mrs. Forbes was a retired Real Estate agenty and a former member of the Houston Association of Realtors, the Texas Association of Realtors, a life long member of South Main Baptist Church where she attended the Hope of Miriam Sunday School Classes. She was an avid gardener and a charter member of the Rivercrest Garden Club, and served several times as the Chairman of the Rivercrest Beautification Committee. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilmot E. Forbes on August 26, 1973. Her survivors include her son, Lance E. Forbes, Dean P. Forbes and Wade K. Forbes; 8 grandchildren; and two nephews, Larry Sullivan and The Honorable Tom Sullivan. Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, December 21, 1998, in the Chapel of Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home, 12800 Westheimer Road at Dairy Ashford, with the Rev. M Eugene Vickrey officiating. Interment will be private for the family only. In lieu of the usual floral rememberances, the family requests that memorial contributions be sent to The Nature Conservancy of Texas.
