    Notes:

His Will was probated on 28 Jan 1867 in Anderson County, Texas. A copy of the probate records can be found on Ancestry.com, Case Number 26, Item 223-343. Giles died without a will. When he died, he had debts, and the only property owned was a portion of lot No. 2 in Block No. 13 in Palestine, on the west side of the public square, along with the stone house situated thereon, occupied by Dr. Gothin. It was noted that Giles did not have a surviving wife. His son, Payton S. Graves petitioned to administer this estate in Palestine, Texas, but since he failed to obtain a bond, he was not granted this right. Jesse Calhoun later petioned to be the estate administrator.
