    Ashley was born June 18, 1995 in Huntsville, Texas to Nathan and Tammy Diane Clark Ener. She was a graduate of Hemphill High School and was a Certified Nurses Aid working in the Home Health field. She was a lifelong resident of Hemphill, Texas.

    Ashley is survived by her parents, Nathan and Tammy Ener of Hemphill; grandparents, W.P. and Mamie Ener of Milam, Texas, Tommy and Patsy Clark of Hemphill, Texas and Dianne Vines of Brookeland, Texas; brother, Nathan Ryan Ener of Hemphill; and sister, Chelsea Ann Ener of Hemphill.

    She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Ronald Vines.

    Funeral services for Ashley will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 20, 2017 in Starr Funeral Home Chapel, 510 Starr Street, Hemphill, Texas with burial to follow in Ener Cemetery, Yellowpine, Texas.

    SABINE COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -
    A 22-year-old woman died when she drove off the road near Hemphill late Monday night, and her SUV struck a tree.

    According to a press release from the Texas Department of Public Safety, the one-vehicle crash occurred on State Highway 87 about one mile south of Hemphill at about 11:25 p.m. Monday.

    The preliminary crash report shows that Ashley Nicole Ener, of Hemphill, was driving a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee north on SH 87 when she drove over into the southbound lane. Ener then over-corrected to the right then back to the left before her vehicle left the road and struck a tree, the press release stated.

    A Sabine County justice of the peace pronounced Ener dead at the scene of the wreck.

    The wreck is still under investigation.
