When they were first married, Charlie and Beckie farmed near Hornersville. They later moved to Kansas City, where Charlie worked for the Santa Fe railroad. He was severly injured at work, and had to use crutches for many years. He used the settlement to purchase the farm in Hornersville. After his health improved, he was able to raise cotton, corn and soy. They eventually purchased some additional farmland near the Arkansas-Missouri state line, in Arybird, Missouri.

Family/Spouse: Rebecca Mary Hills. Rebecca (daughter of Henry Cleveland Hills and Mary Magdalena Krapf) was born on 23 Oct 1894 in Vernon Parish, Louisiana; died on 3 Sep 1984 in Paragould, Greene County, Arkansas. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
