The Striffler-Benkelman Broadcast, Vol. 7, September 4, 1944, noted that Cpl. Leon Krapf, a grandson of Wm. F. Krapf, was in the Army. As of the September 3, 1945 issue (Vol. 8), it was reported that he was in Czechoslovakia.

Leon married Myra Crites on 6 Apr 1940 in Cape Girardeau, Cape Girardeau County, Missouri. Myra was born on 24 Dec 1918 in Cape Girardeau, Cape Girardeau County, Missouri; died on 21 Dec 2007 in Millington, Shelby County, Tennessee; was buried on 23 Dec 2007 in Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Kennett, Dunklin County, Missouri.
