  1. 1.  Alonzo Alkony Fuller was born on 1 Jul 1890 in Rosevine, Sabine County, Texas; died on 20 Dec 1967 in Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas; was buried in Hemphill City Cemetery, Hemphill, Sabine County, Texas.

    Notes:

In her weekly Sabine County Reporter column, "On the Bright Side", Mary Howell wrote that she remembered Alonzo and Emma Fuller. "Mrs. Emma was a school teacher and she influenced the lives of hundreds of Hemphill students. Alonzo was a carpenter and he built several homes in the Hemphill area including the one hundred and nine year old house that I live in now." (Page 4, July 18, 2007).

The following information was extracted from his obituary: "Lonzo Fuller died at 9 am December 20, 1967 in St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, where he had been for three weeks. He was a lifelong resident of Sabine County and a member of a pioneer family in this region. He was a retired building contractor. He was survived by his (second) wife, Jeannette Wright Fuller, his daughter Mrs. Lexie Smith of Akron, Ohio, his granddaughter, two brothers Joe and Hermann Fuller both of the Rosevine Community, four sisters Mrs. Nina McLemore of San Augustine, Mrs. Ethly (sic) Eddings of Rosevine, Mrs. Bertha Fuller (sic) of Conroe and Mrs. Tera Coussons (sic) of Carthage. His funeral services were held 2:30 pm Thursday, December 21 in the First Baptist Church in Hemphill. The Reverend Clarence Howell, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Boling, Texas, and the Rev. Tommy Long, pastor of the Newton Church of God, officiated. He was buried in Hemphill cemetery under the direction of Starr Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Leon Adickes, Lon Wright, Oscar Pate, Dan Prado, Joe Howard and Louis McDonald."
According to "A Pictorial History of Sabine County, Texas", Mrs. Alonzo Fuller was a fifth grade teacher at Hemphill in 1941. Per William Kent Anderson, she was a graduate of Stephen F. Austin University. This book instead shows Lonzo's name as Lonzo Alcony Fuller. On one census for Sabine County, he was shown as "Lawrence A" instead of Alonzo. This Federal Census also had the number "2" in the column for U-C Vet. Army/Navy.
