Hattie married Eugene Peavey Boyett on 25 Jul 1934 in Bon Wier, Newton County, Texas. Eugene (son of George Peavey Boyett and Arcadia Imelda Dougharty) was born on 1 Feb 1914 in Blox, Jasper County, Texas; died on 2 Oct 1955 in Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas; was buried in Davis Cemetery, Fawil, Newton County, Texas. Notes:

Ruby Boyett Burkett writes that she was burned in a tragic accident at the home of her Burkett grandparents and died on the day she would have been nineteen months old. Her Texas death certificate indicated that she died of second and third degree burns from falling into a tub of hot water.
