William and Max Ray were the sons of Melton and Onie (Newburn) McLemore
(left) Cpl. William D. McLemore, entered the Air Forces in 1940, trained in San Juan, Puerto Rico and Cuba. Served in Puerto Rico. Killed in a plane crash October 1943.
(right) MM 3/c Max R. McLemore, entered the Navy in 1944, trained at Camp Perry, Virginia and Gulfport, Mississippi. Served in South Pacific, Luzon, Okinawa and Lyete.
